When recently taking the big plastic lid off my aquarium I realised how nice, and modern the tank looked without it, as a rimless aquarium.
It is a kind of old-fashioned tank design, having those big plastic hoods with the built in lights that come with an aquarium. However, removing the lid meant no light as the light was built in to the top.
So I went on Amazon and bought an LED light for £30, that sits on the rim of the glass, above the water. I do think you could maybe get the light a little cheaper off eBay but I do like shopping with Amazon.
I was skeptical as it kinda looked cheap, and for £30 you won’t be getting the best on the market, but I bought the one with the best reviews, and the reviews were amazing.
The quality was great, and after taking 2 minuets to set it up, it looks far better than I thought it would!
The light is very, very bright, and with LED they’re cheaper to run than standard bulbs, and more powerful, so I’m very happy.
Photos aren’t easy to take when there’s a powerful light in front of the lens but I did try to do the tank justice, although not very well.
